Daily Disposable

Daily disposables are used to correct short or long sightedness. They’re the healthiest and most convenient way to wear contact lenses. They give you a fresh, clear lens every day, with no need for solutions. They’re ideal for when you don’t want to wear glasses – either occasionally, part-time or every day. Best for those longer days and nights
Do you live your life to the fullest and need to wear your contact lenses for long periods of time? If so, you need a contact lens that: is designed with moisture locking technology for an ultra-smooth lens and better end-of-day comfort and one that allows the highest level of oxygen.

Reusable

Reusable contact lenses are used to correct short or long sightedness. They are for daily wear, but rather than dispose of them at the end of the day, you clean then store them in a contact lens case until you wear them again. Some of these contact lenses can also be slept in overnight . They are ideal if you are looking for the most economical lenses. They should be replaced every two or four weeks with a new pair.

Reuseable contacts need to be replaced every 2 to 4 weeks to prevent a build-up of lens deposits (a biofilm layer) and contamination that increase the risk of eye infections.

Astigmatic

Astigmatism is a common condition that affects many people – children as well as adults. It is caused by the shape of your eye and results in blurry or distorted vision at all distances, varying with the strength of the astigmatism.

Astigmatic contact lenses are specially designed to fit the shape of astigmatic eyes. They are available as daily or reusable contact lenses that would be replaced or every two to four weeks.

And of course for those that need a toric and a multifocal , the Proclear Multifocal Toric may be an option.

Mutifocals

As you approach the age of 40 , a condition known as presbyopia affects everyone. The lens of your eye becomes less flexible making it harder to adjust one’s focus from far to near objects and thus makes reading more difficult.

Many multifocal contact lenses have a bifocal design with two distinct lens powers — one for your distance vision and one for near. Others have a multifocal design somewhat like progressive eyeglass lenses, with a gradual change in lens power for a natural visual transition from distance to close-up.

The Spectrum Doctors have the technology in multifocal contact lenses that allow you to see both near and far in various lens designs.

Hybrid Hydrogels

Hybrid (dual material) contact lenses are different from convential They are made out of two materials - one that has a rigid gas permeable centre material (GP) providing clear vision and another providing a soft outer shirt that resulting in all-day comfort.

Hybrid lenses such as SynergEyes can correct for corneal astigmatism , presbyopia and keratoconus in various designs.

These lenses are traditional more expensive but can provide crisp, clear vision, comfortable vision.

Gas Permeable

GP contacts are made of a firm, durable plastic that transmits oxygen. They offer excellent eye health because they do not contain water like soft lenses do. The lenses also resist deposits and are less likely than soft contacts to harbour bacteria.
GP contact lenses clean and disinfect easily, don’t dehydrate, are easier to handle, and last longer than soft lenses.
And since GP contacts retain their shape better, they provide crisper vision than soft contact lenses.
